BIG SOUND – ANYWHERE !

(commissioning links are used in article)
Today we look into the SOUNDBOKS Bluetooth speaker and why this piece of equipment is ready for anything.

I have personally used the SoundBoks Gen 2 at work for almost two years now and Im using it everyday all day. The simplicity of this unit is incredible, it has all the features and is built like an Ox. From day one it has been easy to use/setup and never missed a beat.

In simple form it’s a big battery and three speakers in a box but let me tell you, it can fill out your workspace or backyard like its a stadium concert.
With the new SOUNDBOKS GEN 4 flagship product we will dive into why its so good and its improved specifications.
We will look at:

  • Design –

Compared to other bluetooth speakers on the market this is on the larger side, so if you only need some light tunes by the pool then maybe don’t look to far into this Gen 4 (CHECK OUT THE SOUNDBOKS GO INSTEAD). For me, the size only helps improve this speakers design and sound. I’m constantly sitting on it or using it as a makeshift table and become the center piece of the workspace. The construction is surprisingly light and can be put anywhere upright or laying down. The two recessed HANDLES on the sides allow it to be carried by one or two people easily and can also be used to strap down to your boat or car etc. All corners are capped with silicone ball feet which grip the ground and protect it on all surfaces. The BATTERY is a large slide in single unit secured by a strap that makes it quick and easy to swap out if/when needed with a simple plug and play cord. This cord also allows you to charge the battery by itself or plug the speaker into a regular power socket. The front has a all new detachable powder coated steel grill which can be painted and customised if you wanted too. The Buttons and dials are large and bold which makes it easy to see and press even with gloves. You will have access to Power on/off button, Volume control knob with LED indicators, Bluetooth LED indicator, TeamUP button with LED indicators for Solo/Host/Join mode. The feel of everything is durable and solid that gives you confidence to use it like it should be. So don’t be discouraged to take this outdoors in some light weather with the splash proof and IP65 rated electronics. Note: I’ve left mine in rain and it’s still perfectly fine…

  • Price –
These are expensive, actually the most expensive bluetooth speaker on the market that I know of. In saying that, I’m going to sick my head out now and say it’s totally worth it. Current MSRP for the new and improved “GEN 4” model is $999 USD and $699 USD for the “GO”. Also on the soundboks website they have a range of previous refurbished models for a cheaper rate.
  • Features –

These include bluetooth 5.0 connectivity with up to 4 other SKAA units (TeamUP mode) creating surround sound live performance results, The Pro Panel which includes 2 × Combo (XLR, 1/4”) balanced inputs, 1 × 3.5mm stereo input, 1 × 3.5mm stereo output allows you to connect your DJ decks or mixing tray to use as concert speakers anywhere !
40 Hour battery life or 6 hours max volume !!, Yes it sure does last forever and if you run out mid dance then simply swap out to a additional charged BATTERY for another few extra days of continues music.
How does the new GEN 4 compare to the previous 3 versions ? Apart from small visual and design upgrades they have mostly focused on the sound (which makes sense).
The durable practical design was done right the first time so the sound and battery life are the main improvements and the new immersive audio is incomparable to other portable bluetooth speakers period.
